Carmel Beach

Beautiful Carmel Beach is the heart of Carmel by-the-Sea and the reason for this upscale resort. The vast expanse of brilliant white sand, deep blue sea and windswept Monterey cypresses give it a unique look, unmatched on the northern California coast. Located in a protected bay, it lends itself perfectly to romantic walks along the cliff that overlooks the beach and along the shore. It also has public restrooms and free parking on Ocean Avenue. However keep in mind that swimming here is not recommended, as the water is cold and the sea conditions can be dangerous.
