Poipu Beach
Poipu Beach was voted the #1 beach in America. This sunny Kauai beach is popular for swimming, boogie boarding, surfing and snorkeling. (With a bit of luck, you might also spot Hawaiian monk seals!).
Poipu Beach is actually two beaches in one. A narrow sand spit (called Nukumoi Point) separates the two bays. The area on the west side of the beach is a favorite spot for beginner bodyboarders. Small waves break gently on the shallow sandbar and create a playground for children.
To the left of the sandbar is an area protected by lava rocks and shallow for swimming. This is usually the playground for families with young children.
