Smathers Beach

Considered by many to be the best beach in Key West, Smathers Beach is a two-mile stretch of white sand lapped by turquoise waters. This beach has some of the best sand in Key West, so it can get very crowded. This shouldn't be seen as a negative, however - the fun vibe created by people having a good time in a beautiful location is infectious.

Off the beach there are volleyball courts, and people are almost always eager to see new players join them. Palm trees line the beach in some places and provide some much-needed shade. Toilets and showers complete the facilities.
