Trinidad State Beach

Benedek - IStock

It consists of a small secluded beach in a tiny bay (College Cove), surrounded by green slopes, and a long stretch of sand surrounded by a spruce forest. Unlike most Northern California beaches, College Cove enjoys a protected environment that ensures few waves and mild weather. The lush Mediterranean landscape of cliffs and coves is reminiscent of the Italian Riviera. Dolphins, sea otters, seagulls and other coastal birds also come to enjoy this wonderfully calm environment. You will also find on this beach public toilets, sites for tents, a picnic area and a restaurant and you can easily practice kayaking, fishing, hiking or camping.
